Expression of XML Implicit Semantics

چکیده
The problem that XML formally governs syntax only but not semantics has been recognized as a serious barrier for XML-Based data integration and the extension of current Web to the semantic Web. This paper presents expression mode of XML implicit semantics, so that XML document authors may express the semantic information more clearly.

متن کاملLux: A Lightweight, Statically Typed XML Update Language
Several proposals for updating XML have been introduced. Many of them have a rather complicated semantics due to the interaction of side-effects and updates, and some proposals also complicate the semantics of XQuery because arbitrary side-effecting update statements are allowed inside queries. Moreover, static typechecking has not been studied for any proposed XML update language. In this pape...
متن کاملResolving Structural Conflicts in the Integration of XML Schemas: A Semantic Approach
While the Internet has facilitated access to information sources, the task of scalable integration of these heterogeneous data sources remains a challenge. The adoption of the eXtensible Markup Language (XML) as the standard for data representation and exchange has led to an increasing number of XML data sources, both native and non-native. Recent integration work has mainly focused on developi...
متن کاملStructure Aware XML Object Identification
The object identi cation problem is particularly hard for XML data, due to its structural exibility. Tree edit distances have been proposed for approximate comparisons among XML trees. However, such distances ignore the semantics implicit in XML data structure, and their use is computationally infeasible for unordered data. In this paper, we de ne a new distance for XML data, the structure awar...
